Well, Here it is… A Brand New Invention for Men, Women and Children with Long Hair!

HairSocks by PaulaJean®

This is the solution to those annoying problems those of us with long hair suffer from.

In September of 2003, I got my motorcycle license. Without a clue what the open road does to long hair, I set out to enjoy my new hobby. I quickly found out that, even a 5 minute ride to the center of town causes issues with snarling, wind whipped hair. I was horrified! I love my long hair. I love to wear it loose, long and flowing. FREE! Not braided or in a bun all day or in one of those stiff leather things you can't put on by yourself.

I was ready to quit riding my motorcycle to keep my hair. Then I thought, 'all I need to do is keep my hair contained in fabric to keep it safe.

So I make the first HairSock by hand. Those who saw is asked where they could get one. I made many more. I had to buy a sewing machine to keep up with the orders . Ideas for the various uses came flooding in as fast as the orders did. They are now used for more reasons than I could have ever imagined.

Here are a few...

Riding motorcycles (of course), or in a convertible car, bicycle, horse, or boat. House cleaning, gardening, playing sports, accent to team uniforms, mechanics, food prep, nursing/hospital staff. Sleep in one and wake without tangles (little girls won't cry, 'ouch Mommy!'). Burning season, tree cutting, working, mountain climbing or on a windy day. When you go out to dinner, you can wear a nice one to match your outfit and even pin a broach to the top for looks. Hey! Maybe you're just sick of having your hair tickle you today. I have those days too. The reasons for use continues to grow and grow.

All I wonder is... Why didn't anyone think of this earlier?

Colors and lengths made to order.

To order the proper length, measure your pony tail from where you would put the elastic to the end of your hair.

Note: for high wind sports, the HairSock should be of proper length without being too long. The extra length will act as a tail and pull the HairSock off.

The HairSock is not meant for wet hair. Wet hair will snarl MORE in a HairSock. For best results, use the HairSock on dry, freshly brushed hair.

  1. Don't put your HairSock on wet hair. It will work in the reverse and make an awful mess. Almost like a huge dred-lock. I'm not sure why this happens, but for best results you should only wear your HairSock on dry, freshly brushed hair.

  2. For high wind sports such as riding a motorcycle, in a convertible car, boat, etc., make sure the HairSock is the same length as your hair. If the HairSock is longer than your hair, the extra fabric is taken by the wind and will pull your HairSock off. If it is too short, the ends of your hair will be unprotected and are subject to wind damage and snarling.
